Hi Susy! I served these at a baby shower in late spring and didn’t have any issues. If it’s too warm you may want to use a royal icing. The cookies should hold up just fine. 🙂

We have really humid weather right now. Could you tell me how the cookies and icing hold up in humidity? I need to make several batches and I’d hate for the icing or cookies to go too soft. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi Sam, I have made these Sugar cookies and the icing twice once for our Super Bowl cookie helmets decorated with every team in the NFL and Gnomes as Referees. I made them again for my Grandsons Flag football team Green Bay Packers helmets last week and these cookies are the best cookies I have ever made. I followed the recipe and your video exactly what you said and these cookies were double delicious 😋. My coworkers son had a Gnome and he had a store bought his sister gave him with a popular character, he told his Mom mine was way better. My Mom even said these were better then the Christmas cookies I made with a different recipe. So long email short Thank You!!! You are Awesome!!!

Hi Linda! With such a small amount of milk and large amount of preserving sugar I am very comfortable leaving it at room temperature but please do what you feel most comfortable with in your own kitchen. 🙂

In reply to Debbie.

Hi Sam, I made this excellent easy delicious cookie recipe and the delicious frosting for Super Bowl football cookies. So my question is now this might be a ridiculous question, but I am asking anyway. Since the frosting has milk in it are they safe to leave out at room temperature? I have to make more for a flag football team.

I don’t have a problem with this recipe, it came out so perfectly and it’s not too overly sweetness! I highly recommended with Kitchen scale than cups. Cookie dough that was chilled for 24 hours prior to baking.

I do not know. At 1/8″ you will get about 40 cookies so I would assume somewhere close to that. 🙂

Thank you! At 1/4” any idea how many 3” cookies this will make?

Hi Bri! The liquid ones will work. The color just isn’t quite as vibrant and usually requires greater amounts of coloring to be added.

Hi Susan! I think that could work. Sometimes zest adds a little extra moisture so it’s possible you may need some more flour depending on how much you use. 🙂

I didn’t sub anything… I’ve used this recipe multiple times just this time something is making a few of my cookies spread each batch… Not sure if it’s a temperate thing or maybe i didn’t cream the butter properly.

Hmm did you make any substitutions? How did the dough seem when you went to put it in the refrigerator? Was it really soft and sticky?

This will make about 40 sugar cookies (based off 3″/7.6cm cookie cutters). 🙂

I was wondering if I can make the cookies & freeze them for a week before icing.

My cookies came out perfect after the dough was refrigerated for 24 hours. I made large cookies; instead of frosting, I used colored white chocolate and dark chocolate to decorate. Sent them to my college kids. They looked beautiful!! Thank you!!

Hi Donna! If it says 2 cups, sifted, then you would want to sift it after measuring. If it calls for 2 sifted cups of flour you would want to measure after sifting. Pay attention to how it’s written as that is key. 🙂

I have a basic question even though I do alot of baking.
When recipe calls for 2 cups flour, sifted
Do you measure before flour is sifted or after…..I have done both ways
Thanks alot
